Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to "unity in service." Our purpose is to "assemble college and university students in the spirit of service to humanity and to develop friendship amongst students of all races and creeds." We eat, sleep, and breathe three things: (1.) Service, (2.) Friendship, and (3.) Equality.
The Beta Psi chapter, located at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, has been increasingly involved with, not just the campus, but also the surrounding community as well. It is our sincerest, personal goal that we touch the lives of everyone we come across in a positive, uplifting way. Since our debut on the IUP campus on June 20, 1969, we have organized blood, food and clothing drives, spent time playing Bingo with the elderly, assisted with S.N.A.P (Special Needs Assistance Program), and have organized several different walks for charity, as well as donated our time to anyone in need of a helping hand. We plan to only increase our efforts to help the community not just this coming semester, but in all future semesters as well.
